Anyone who knows me, knows my 3 favorite hobbies are reading, watching documentaries, and fashion (otherwise known as playing dress up!). I recently made a discovery that BLEW MY MIND! A blog by Ari Seth Cohen called Advanced Style. He started this blog as a way to connect with his stylish grandmother and her friends. He wanted to share and spread the truth, that you can age beautifully, still be stylish, fashionable. That alone is reason to love him.
To quote Ari — “I roam the streets of New York looking for the most stylish and creative older folks. Respect your elders and let these ladies and gents teach you a thing or two about living life to the fullest.” As you can imagine, when I found this blog, I was in heaven. As I read on, I discovered there is also a documentary Ari made based on these lovely creative people of New York!
I hope you enjoy this Documentary Pick! All of us at Me Actually, (including Lisa’s Mister) are in love with the arts, so you’ll get perspectives from all of us on Books, Theater, Movies and much more.
REVIEW:
With wonderful flare and inspiring life moments, this documentary is enjoyable from start to finish. With phrases like… “I dress for the theater of my life”, and “It takes me years to perfect my outfits” this charming documentary makes me hope I’m this this stylish, fashionable and FULL OF LIFE in the golden years of my life. If you love fashion — the arts — and seeing real live people fulfilling their dreams in both of these areas, this documentary will NOT disappoint. It’s now available on Netflix.
